While embroidered caps may seem like an easily forgotten item, numbers don’t lie. According to a 2016 study by the Advertising Specialty Institute (ASI), embroidered caps gain over 3,100 impressions over their lifetime in US markets alone.  As the use and popularity of promotional products increases year over year, so too does the market’s love of caps. And, as ASI’s research demonstrates, people love caps more than t-shirts, jackets, or writing instruments.

One of the things that make caps so attractive to advertisers is that unlike traditional forms of advertising such as tv and radio ads, print, or online marketing, apparel based advertising that “walks” is more likely to gain attention. In addition, because apparel is an extension of the individual, we are more likely to be influenced by those in our close personal circle. When we see our friends and family wearing and highlighting something they love, we’re often drawn to the same brands.  On top of that, caps are a one-size fits most kind of giveaway (except maybe for your uncle with the especially large head)! So how can you make use of a promotional cap in your next campaign?
