The last several months have been challenging for many organizations and small businesses but they have been particularly challenging for those that depend on in-person events and fundraisers for support such as charities and not-for-profit organizations. Thankfully, many businesses and not-for-profits have demonstrated a lot of resiliency during this period and have worked hard to find ways to keep moving forward. While in-person fundraisers were put at risk with the onset of the pandemic, the last few months spawned creative solutions to a global problem.
At COMDA, we know how important resiliency is, and we strive to help our customers, clients and friends pivot where they can. As such, COMDA is proud to once again announce its partnership with the Ontario SPCA & Humane Society. As many of our friends and customers already know, COMDA consists of many animal lovers and the Ontario SPCA is one organization that we hold dear. Last September during the inaugural year of our partnership, we teamed up with them for their annual Friends for Life! Walk. It was a wonderful event. We spent the day engaged in doggy agility trials, enjoying tasty treats, touring our local Ontario SPCA Provincial Education & Animal Centre facility to view available adoptable pets and it all culminated in a walk through the beautiful wildflower lined back-trail adjacent to the facility.

This year, due to necessary social distancing protocol, the Ontario SPCA has had to transition their event, going digital where they could. In lieu of their annual walk theyve created the Sweat for Pets initiative, designed to encourage families to participate in sports, workouts, or to challenge each other, all on behalf of the animals we know and love. This new method of fundraising and event hosting is not without its challenges but we are sure this will be a positive learning opportunity for us all as we navigate virtual events alongside them. COMDA is proud to be sponsoring thank-you swag bags for this event, branded sling bags that include personalized calendars, bandanas and more!
We are also proud to announce that Andys Photo Booth (which last year was dedicated in loving memory to our sheltie, Andy and helped to memorialize dozens of pets) has also gone digital for the duration of this event. While we no longer have the talents of dedicated photographers, the online Photo Gallery allows donors and participants to showcase their own beloved animals, on whose behalf they are sweating. Once again, the photo gallery is dedicated in memory to our much loved sheltie, Andy, who we had the privilege of knowing for over sixteen years. Its because of our connection with him, and the other pets we have in our lives today, that we support the Ontario SPCA and their fundraising initiatives.
